WHAT IS
SBM?
Seni Bilah Melayu translates as Malay Blade Art.
Established on 20 July 2025, Seni Bilah Melayu is led by founder Ilmi Khalid. Its core is weapon-based Silat practice, with related empty-hand study and a striking module called Silat Tomoi.
SBM is not presented as an ancient institution. It is a contemporary teaching system that organises material learned through teachers and developed through continued practice, observation and instruction.
